Dr Fritz was trained in psychology, philosophy, and linguistics at the University of Graz, Austria, and received his Ph.D. in Psychology from Stanford University in 1985.
Between 1984 and 1998 he was Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor of Psychology at the University of London and served there as Director of the Institute of Cognitive and Decision Sciences from 1991 to 1997.
From September 1998 to 2006 he was the Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychology and the Department of Cognitive and Linguistic Sciences at Cambridge University. He received the 1995 Society of Experimental Social Psychology Dissertation Award and a National Science Foundation CAREER award 1987-1991.
Well, that’s what his Website says anyway. If you have a look at the site you may well be pretty well impressed.
I have it on good authority that he is actually the alter-ego of Ian Harvey the Corporate Hoax Speaker who longs for the sort of credibility that acrues to someone with a german accent and a the word ‘Doctor’ in front of his name.
Dr Fritz – The Relationship Shrink, will provide a psychological explanation of cognitive dissonance and provide an example using a random member of the audience.
This ‘random’ person is in fact a well known member of the audience and a bit of a roast unfolds to the delight of the subject and the rest of the audience.To prepare for this presentation Dr Fritz requires a good full frontal image of the target’s face which is then split, mirrored and 2 new images created (one from the two left hand sides joined and one from the right side). Also what is required is some ‘dirt’ on the target such as:
